Too many lives in Cleveland are forever altered before a trial even begins. People sit in jail for days—sometimes weeks—waiting for their cases to move forward. This isn’t justice.

That’s why GCC’s Pre-Trial Justice Team is taking action. On Thursday, October 9, we’re gathering as a community to demand change and hold our judicial candidates accountable.

All eight judicial candidates for Cleveland Municipal Court (General Division) have been invited to attend, share their vision, answer key questions, and make clear their commitments to building a fairer pretrial system.

This is our chance to ensure that those seeking to lead our courts are ready to tackle the broken systems that sentence people before they’ve even been charged.
