Ohio! We’re making some big decisions on Nov 7.
Your future is in your hands, and here’s what’s on the ballot:
Reproductive rights. Legalized marijuana. The People’s Budget CLE. Cuyahoga Community College Levy.
1. Reproductive Rights
YES: A “yes” vote establishes a state constitutional right for individuals and families to make and carry out their own reproductive decisions, including decisions involving:
- Contraception
- Fertility treatments
- Care after miscarriage
- Continuing pregnancy
- Abortion
A “yes” vote also allows the state to restrict abortion after fetal viability except when necessary to protect the pregnant patient’s life or health.
NO: A “no” vote allows legislators to make key decisions on reproductive health care for individuals and families.
2. Legalize Recreational Marijuana
YES: A “yes” vote supports this ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana use in Ohio, including:
- The sale and purchase of marijuana, which a new Division of Cannabis Control would regulate
- Persons who are at least 21 years old to use and possess marijuana, including up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana
- Enacts a 10% tax on marijuana sales
NO: A “no” vote opposes this initiative to legalize recreational marijuana use in Ohio.
3. The People’s Budget – City of Cleveland Only
YES: A “yes” vote supports a charter amendment creating a People’s Budget or participatory budgeting process in the city of Cleveland, allowing residents to propose and vote on city-wide and neighborhood-specific projects using money to be allocated from the City of Cleveland General Fund.
NO: A “no” vote opposes creating a charter amendment for a People’s Budget process in Cleveland.
4. Cuyahoga Community College Levy – Renewal and Increase
YES: A “yes” vote supports the Cuyahoga Community College levy, which will continue to keep tuition affordable and support up-to-date technical education and workforce training. Cuyahoga County property owners would pay an additional $1.17 per month per $100,000 of property value. The increase would begin in 2024 and continue for 10 years.
NO: A “no” vote opposes the levy.

- Vote Early by Mail (Recommended by GCC Neighborhood Captains). Request ballot application TODAY at 216-443-8683 OR download from https://boe.cuyahogacounty.gov/voters/vote-by-mail, print, sign and mail it in. The deadline to mail or bring your ballot to BOE is Nov. 6th. (Don’t wait: Mail it sooner!)
- Vote Early In-Person at the Board of Elections – Oct. 11th to Nov. 5th.
- Vote on Election Day at your polling place – Nov. 7th 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
